Stash Box Reveal - May 2023
This month's pattern is called Ride The Wave. It'll fit a 6 inch hoop, but I think it'll also look really nice in a frame. We're stitching with variegated floss again this month and I'm also writing a blog about different ways to work variegated floss for cross stitch so that you're able to make some decisions about how you want your piece to look.
There are a few things you should know about this pattern...
First of all, it was initially designed to be sewn with tent stitch as part of the book I started writing last year. I have the text tent stitched on canvas in various sizes and colours. While I might pick up writing that book again, I think I'd like a fresh start, so I'm excited to bring a few of those patterns to Stash Box, as I still love them a lot!
Second, I have messed about with the variegated thread A LOT! it means I'm ridiculously behind with the sample, but I'll have it done in the next couple of days and I'll add a couple more pics to this post. I'm also still back and forth over the backstitch, so even the mock-up is incomplete until I get in there with needle and thread.
Ride the Wave is a very appropriate title indeed!
